High Holy Day
General
Information
Security
For
the safety of our congregation, we will have an increased security
presence both in and around the Temple. Please note the
following:
• No packages, backpacks, briefcases or shopping bags
will be allowed into the Temple building during our High Holy
Day worship services.
• No one will be allowed in without a ticket.
• Tickets are not transferable and cannot be given to
non-members; tickets used in an unauthorized manner will be
confiscated.
• We are encouraging all women leave their purses at home
if possible. Whether large or small, they must all be
searched and the search process will slow down entry into the
temple and may cause delays.
No
child or teen will be allowed in the halls during services. We
ask that children remain under parental supervision at all times,
unless attending a service/program. Other than for the planned
activities, there is no staff available to guarantee the safety
and security of children inside or outside the building.
Mailing
of Tickets
Tickets
will be mailed in early September. Tickets will be issued in person,
at the Temple office, for anyone whose fees are received after a certain date.
For
the convenience of our members, the Administrative Office of the
Temple will be open additional hours the week prior to Rosh HaShanah.
Student
Tickets
Members’
children who are 25 years old or younger, or dependent children
who are engaged in full-time undergraduate/graduate education,
may attend services as part of their parents’ memberships.
We encourage all young adults (26 and older) to join the Temple
as Junior Members. Please contact the office to arrange for such
memberships.
Visitor
and Guest Tickets
Friends
or family members who belong to out-of-town Reform congregations
may request seats at our services by having their home congregation
mail or fax a Courtesy Request Form to our office.
Members
may purchase tickets at $150 each for out-of-town friends or family
members not affiliated with another Reform congregation. A limited
number of guest tickets are available. Purchases are restricted
to two tickets per family, and they will be given on a first-come,
first-served basis.
Services
in the Raisler Room
Services for all new members (first two years) will be held in
our Raisler Room. High Holy Day services will be conducted by
Rabbi Darren Levine and Cantor Daniel Singer. Representatives
of our Board of Trustees and committees will also attend services
in the Raisler Room so that they can welcome and worship with
new members. In addition, all longtime members have the option
of attending this service (and many prefer its intimate style).
Please
note: Once the Sanctuary, Balcony, and Davis Auditorium are
filled to capacity, all members will be asked to attend services
in the Raisler Room.
Children’s
Services
Children's
Services are held at the same time as Adult Early Services. The
students are broken into three grade groups: Kindergarten to 2nd
Grade; 3rd and 4th Grade; 5th and 6th Grade. In addition
to worship service, there is a music and art component to the
program.
Youth
Group Services
Youth
Group Services are held on Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur for students
in the 7th through 12th Grade. These services are led by
members of our High School Youth Group.
Afternoon
Family Services
Afternoon
Family Services, led by the clergy in our Main Sanctuary, include
our Pre-school and Kindergarten Service, with prayers, lots of
singing and a story for our youngest congregants and their families
to enjoy; and our new Family Service, especially for families
with children in grades 1-6, allow elementary school families
enjoy a special Yom Tov celebration together with a spirited service
and great High Holy Day music.
Financial
In
order for your High Holy Day tickets to be processed, at least
50% of your dues and fees must be paid or arrangements made with
Executive Director Nancy Schneider or Comptroller Merlie Elizes
by September 1.
